Reflection by Sister Kimberly Kessler, CSR

Sister Kim, shares this reflection as she prepares for Perpetual Profession on December 9th

Detail from Cross in Mother Alphonse Maria Eppinger’s childhood home.

As I prepare for Perpetual Profession, the image of  water keeps coming to my prayer.  I am reminded of our Sisters singing, “We will draw water joyfully, singing joyfully, singing joyfully, from the wellsprings of  salvation.”  In my mind I returned to the wooden cross that I visited in our Foundress’ house in France and recalled the scripture from Isaiah 12:3 “Drink with joy from the springs of the Redeemer.”  The image of water flowing from the heart of the Redeemer; this free flowing water from Jesus is his infinite love and salvation for me.

I continue to encounter Jesus’ loving presence, redeeming love, and peace within my soul—such a freeing experience and grace from Jesus.  Jesus has given me the life giving water I need to say “Yes” forever to committing my life to him with a joyful heart and spirit.
