Night at the Races is Back!

July 26, 2022

Since arriving in America nearly a century ago, the Sisters of the Redeemer have responded to the needs of poor, sick, and underserved persons. Considering the demands of the times, the Sisters established ministries—one by one—most of them now part of Redeemer Health, formerly Holy Redeemer Health System.

Over the years, our ministries expanded beyond healthcare to include education, Redeemer Valley Farm, Redeemer Ministry Volunteer Corps, Art at Valley Lake Gallery, Second to Nun Framery, and Vocation Ministry. As an international Congregation of women religious, the Sisters also offer financial support to Sisters of the Redeemer’s ministries—education, job training, agriculture, and healthcare—in Tanzania.

After a several-year hiatus, we are excited to bring back one of our most successful fundraisers—Night at the Races! We anticipate approximately 300 people in attendance at this event, which is scheduled for Saturday, September 17, 2022, at the Ukrainian Educational and Cultural Center in Jenkintown.

Night at the Races, also known as video horse racing, is an audience-participation fundraiser where actual horse races are shown on video to recreate the experience of being at a real-life race track. Attendees are able to bet on the horses, sponsor a horse, name a horse, bid on auction baskets, and participate in a 50/50 raffle. Dinner and drinks are included in the $25 ticket price. All proceeds from Night at the Races support the Sisters of the Redeemer’s ministries and charitable works.

Tickets can be purchased online here.
