Reflection
A song I recently heard contained the phrase, “The world ain’t slowing down.” And that’s true; the globe keeps turning at its life-sustaining rhythm. The rate at which we keep moving certainly makes it feel like the the world is revolving faster. However, its just about August and in most parts of this country the temperatures are at a peak – its hot and we are forced to move a little slower. Our bodies and minds long for a vacation or at least a day to relax and enjoy the length of daylight. We may or may not have the privilege of slowing down physically but we do have an eternal source residing within where time doesn’t exist and our days are not measured in hours or the amount of work accomplished. God’s Spirit is all around and when we breath in and out we are nourished by this constant presence. So, in these days of August, join the life-sustaining rhythm of Earth and God’s Spirit and remember to breath – deeply. ~ Sister Ana
