Sisters adopt new name

September 20, 2017

Sr. Anne Marie Haas, CSR, sent a letter out to friends and supporters of the Sisters on September 20 to announce the adoption of the name used in Germany and Tanzania. The letter reads as follows.

Dear Friends,

Over the past few years, the Sisters have been exploring opportunities to become more unified at the international level with out Sisters in Germany and Tanzania. We have begun formally to do this by establishing , in 2013, an international leadership team, on which I have the privilege to serve. By working more closely together, the Sisters have strengthened the experience of our shared charism and spirituality which serves to deepen all that we are and do.

As a step towards recognizing this unity, we, the Sisters of the American Province, are pleased to announce that we have decided to adopt the name used in Germany and Tanzania- The Sister of the Redeemer (Congregation Sororum Redemptore- C.S.R.). While this is a simple change, it’s significance is large. With a name identical in each country, we desire to identify ways to evolve our role together to meet the world’s changing needs, as well as those needs here at home and with Holy Redeemer Health Systems.

As the Sisters of the Redeemer, we will draw upon the strength of our larger Congregation as well as your ongoing friendship and support to benefit our ministries here and abroad. Most importantly, as one Congregation, we will hold Jesus, the Redeemer, as central to our mission.

If you would like to learn more about the Sister, our international Congregation and our ministries here at home, I invite you to visit our new website at redeemersisters.org.

In the name of our Redeemer,

Sr. Anne Marie Haas, CSR
